Apple wants to ban Samsung Galaxy Nexus in US

New York: Apple has requested a ban on sales in the US of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone, claiming that the showcase for Google’s heavily touted Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system violates four Apple patents.
Earlier, Apple won a suit against Taiwan’s HTC with the U.S. International Trade Commission over a data tapping patent infringement.
This is the second time Apple is suing Samsung over the Galaxy Nexus. On February 1, the Munich regional court in Germany rejected Apple’s request for an injunction banning the Galaxy Nexus.
The California suit is based on a different patent infringement claim.
Samsung and Apple are engaged in about 30 lawsuits around the world. Japanese and German courts are expected to rule next month on Samsung’s request for injunctions against the iPhone.
